These terms explain the rules for using iCarValue and what you can expect from us. They are written in plain language and are provided for information. They are not legal advice, and they should be reviewed by a qualified Ghanaian legal professional before final launch.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account on iCarValue or using the platform, you agree to follow these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the platform. Where you use iCarValue on behalf of a business, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for that business.
2. Using iCarValue
iCarValue is an online marketplace that helps buyers and sellers in Ghana discover vehicle listings and connect with each other. We provide the platform and the tools; we do not sell the vehicles listed by other users and we are not a party to private transactions between users unless we expressly say otherwise.
You agree to use the platform lawfully, honestly, and in a way that respects other users. You must be able to enter into a binding contract in order to use iCarValue.
3. User Accounts
- Provide accurate information when you register, and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password and verification codes confidential. You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account.
- Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed your account.
- Some features depend on verifying your email address or phone number.
- Do not create additional accounts to get around a restriction applied to an existing account.
4. Vehicle Listings
Listings on iCarValue are created and submitted by users and sellers. Details such as descriptions, prices, photographs, mileage, ownership information, location, and condition are supplied by the person or business listing the vehicle.
We may review or moderate listings and take reasonable steps to improve the safety and quality of the marketplace, but we do not independently confirm every detail of every listing. A listing appearing on iCarValue is not a confirmation by us that the vehicle is genuine, available, accurately described, or lawfully owned.
5. Seller Responsibilities
- Only list a vehicle you have the legal authority to sell.
- Describe the vehicle accurately, including its condition and any known faults you are aware of.
- Use genuine photographs of the actual vehicle you are advertising.
- Do not use misleading titles, prices, or descriptions.
- Comply with the laws that apply to selling a vehicle in Ghana, including any documentation and transfer requirements.
- Respond to genuine enquiries honestly, and remove or update a listing once the vehicle is no longer available.
6. Buyer Responsibilities
- Do not rely only on a listing, photograph, price, or conversation when deciding to buy.
- Inspect the vehicle, confirm the seller's identity, and check ownership and documentation before paying.
- Arrange an independent mechanical inspection where appropriate.
- Be cautious about prices that seem unusually low and about pressure to pay quickly.

7. Transactions Between Users
Transactions arranged through iCarValue are agreements between the buyer and the seller. Those users decide the price, the payment method, the handover arrangements, and any guarantees or after-sale commitments between them.
iCarValue does not hold, transfer, or escrow money for private vehicle sales, and does not take part in the negotiation, inspection, or delivery of a vehicle. Buyers and sellers are responsible for verifying each other and for the transaction they choose to enter into.
8. Payments
Payments made to iCarValue relate to platform services such as subscriptions or listing boosts. These payments are processed by our payment provider, Paystack, on its own checkout, and are subject to that provider's terms. We store a record of the transaction rather than your full card details.
Payments between a buyer and a seller for a vehicle are made directly between those users and are outside our control. Please take care when paying for a vehicle, and do not send money to someone you have not verified.
9. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings, or misrepresent a vehicle's condition, ownership, or legal status.
- Advertise a vehicle you do not have the authority to sell, or list stolen goods or falsified documents.
- Harass, abuse, threaten, or discriminate against other users.
- Attempt to obtain another person's password, verification code, or financial information.
- Use the platform for money laundering or any other unlawful purpose.
- Interfere with the platform's security, or use bots or scraping tools to collect data from it.
- Manipulate ratings, reviews, or verification status.
10. Fraud and Misrepresentation
Fraud and deliberate misrepresentation are not permitted. If you believe a listing or user is fraudulent or misleading, please report it through the platform or contact us using the details below. We review reports we receive and take the action we consider appropriate, which may include removing content or restricting an account. Reporting a matter to us does not replace reporting a suspected crime to the appropriate authorities.
11. Listing Removal and Account Restrictions
We may remove or hide a listing, or suspend, restrict, or close an account, where we reasonably believe that these terms have been broken, that content is unlawful or misleading, or that action is needed to protect users or the platform. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will let you know and give you an opportunity to respond. If you believe a decision was made in error, you can contact us to ask us to review it.
12. Intellectual Property
The iCarValue name, logo, design, and software belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or reuse them without our permission.
You keep ownership of the content you upload, such as listing text and photographs. By uploading content, you give us permission to host, display, and distribute it on the platform so we can operate the marketplace, and you confirm that you have the right to share that content.
13. Third-Party Services
iCarValue relies on third-party services, including Google Firebase for authentication, database, and file storage, Google reCAPTCHA for phone verification checks, and Paystack for payments. The platform may also link to external sites or apps, such as WhatsApp, when you choose to contact a seller. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.
14. Limitation of Responsibility
iCarValue provides the marketplace on a reasonable-efforts basis. We do not guarantee that the platform will always be available or free of errors, and we do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of information supplied by users.
Because listings and transactions are created and carried out by users, we are not responsible for the condition, ownership, legality, or delivery of a vehicle sold through the platform, or for a user's conduct. To the extent permitted by Ghanaian law, we are not liable for loss arising from a transaction between users or from your reliance on information supplied by another user.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under the laws of Ghana, including responsibility for our own fraud.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as the platform develops or as the law requires. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use iCarValue after an update means you accept the revised terms.
16. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and disputes relating to them are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.
